26th November 2002 - Version 6.0
After a drought of updates here's the big one. Welcome to version 6.0, this new design doesn't only bring a new layout, but for many of the game sections I've added scripts and instruction manuals, with more coming soon. We also now have a fully completed Mega Man Zero guide, with all the info you'll need about the game. The menu on the left has changed a little from the last version, as the game series are now in the menu, you can still access all the game sections through there. Now that Mega Man Zero's out of the way, I'll begin writing up guides for Mega Man 1-5 on the Gameboy, and I'll eventually launch sections for the Battle Network series. As you can probably tell from the size of all the available guides, they take hours to make, so it'll be some time yet before I get around to finishing more guides, but patience is a virtue, so I'll be taking it one step at a time. I think all this work has earned me a good long rest, so enjoy the new design and guides, more new stuff will appear once I've shaken off sleepiness.
9th November 2002 - New updates coming (2)
Yikes, it's been a busy year. It might seem like I haven't been updating lately, but that's because I'm working on new stuff that should help the site grow very soon. In around late November-early December I'll be launching version 6.0 of the site, and instead of just a new design loads of added sections for each game will be added, and once I've gotten around to updating all the current games, I'll add info and guides for Mega Man Zero. Once all that's good and done, I'll begin work on the Battle Network series coverage, so heaps of new stuff should be happening quite soon.
11th October 2002 - New updates coming
Life's been busy, and free time's been short. I haven't been able to update for a while now due to the busy nature of life, but I've got a few updates in mind for around mid-November, so things should pick up around then, with new stuff and additions on their way.
11th September 2002 - Mega Man Zero's Release/New Wallpaper addition
To commemorate Mega Man Zero's release across the US today, I've designed our first wallpaper with the theme of MMZ, you can download the design in either 800x600 or 1024x768 resolutions. Over time I'll try to get more wallpaper designs made, once more appear I'll set up a new section to house them. Enjoy!

30th July 2002 - Affiliate News
There's been a few changes with the affiliates regarding two sites. Mega Man X Online is now known as the Mega Man Network and MMXZ: TH has become the MegaMan Universe. Both sites are now offering coverage for all the major Mega Man series with slick layouts, so be sure to check them both out! We have also just passed out second anniversary on the 25th! In two years I've managed to cover seventeen games and climb the ladder to become a well-known site, so I'd just like to thank once again all the supporters and visitors of this site for giving me the inspiration to make this site the best it can be. Thanks everyone!
17th July 2002 - New Guides/Movie Clip
Sorry about the break in updates, but after today's one it's been worth the wait. Firstly, I've uploaded the intro clip for Mega Man X6 in RealPlayer format, so it's now available in the Movie and Audio section. Now for the good stuff. Using the main guides for the X series, I've taken all the guides and written up text file versions of each one, the only thing they don't have are the images that appear in the guides here. You can now download the text file versions from the main pages of each game in the X series. I might also write up text versions for the original Mega Man series guides, as there's something new here that has taken it's sweet time in coming, but the Mega Man 8 guide is now fully complete and available for viewing! I apologize for taking so long to have the guide done, but I finally managed to get a copy of the game to do the guide, and it's just in time for our second anniversary on the 25th. Now that all the guides have been finished off, I might consider writing up guides in the future for Mega Man 1-5 on the Gameboy, as well as starting up guides for the Battle Network series and Mega Man Zero. If I do decide to write guides for those series I'll post a notice here. Enjoy the new MM8 guide!
27th June 2002 - New e-mail
Just a quick update to say that I've got a new e-mail <falconwingzero@hotmail.com>, so anyone wanting to send me a message about anything, please send it to the new address from now on and not the old one, any e-mails I receive in the old address won't be replyed to anymore, I'll only be using the new one from now on.
8th June 2002 - Rockman & Forte is coming!
This will probably be old news for some people, but if you haven't heard the news yet, Rockman & Forte has just recently been announced on Capcom of Japan's site to have a release on the Game Boy Advance! Originally released back in 1998 on the Super Famicom, R&F never made it out of Japan, but now players all around the world will be able to experience this great game on the GBA. The American release, assuming to carry the name Mega Man & Bass, should come out not long after the Japanese version hits store shelves. If the game remains faithful to the original SFC title, the gameplay and aspects of the game should be fairly similar, so don't forget that we already have coverage for the original Rockman & Forte, should any players need any assistance with the game. Also on another side note, MMXZ: TH has a copy of the direct feed X7 trailer available for download in RealPlayer and Quicktime formats.
4th June 2002 - Mega Man X7 E3 Clip
During the recent E3 Expo in LA, a successful video capture was made of the Mega Man X7 preview movie displayed at Capcom's booths. Originally posted at Mega Man Outpost, the original movie file weighs in at about 7.05 MB, and most people were finding it difficult to download the file through MMO's server. To help out the mass popularity that the clip has drawn in, we now have the same clip available here with permission of MMO, but without sound and in RealPlayer format. Please keep in mind that although this file is in a different format, it's a converted form of the original avi clip, but without sound to help draw the file size down. The clip was recorded at E3 and provided by LightRanma. Click the link below to download the clip and enjoy! Mega Man X7 E3 Footage - 1.06 MB Zipped |
1st June 2002 - Site News/MMXA's Departure
There's been a loss in the Mega Man community recently. Mega Man X Arena has unfortunately closed it's doors due to complications and doesn't look as though it'll be coming back. Zero X Delta, the owner of the promising site, has always been a strong supporter of this site, and the closing of MMXA is a sad event, but Zero X Delta has reported that he's had a blast while the site was going, and he now hopes to start up his own Final Fantasy site, once it launches I'll post the link here. On another note, we've gained a new affiliate in MMXA's depature, Mega Man & Zero: The Homepage is a fantastic site (the owner's name is MMXZ, but I'm not fussed about the similarity), be sure to check them out, they've got some great content growing every day, including some hilarious flash comic movies.
24th May 2002 - Site News/E3 2002
Just a few new updates today, I've added a bit more info to the bosses section of X6, with a few more strategies on beating certain bosses. There's also been a huge amount of activity at E3 this year involving new Capcom titles, if you haven't heard of all the news going on, a whole heap of new MM titles are up for show, including Mega Man Zero, Mega Man Battle Network 2, and just recently there's been info on the PC versions of X5 and Mega Man Legends 2, and last but certainly not least, a Mega Man X7 appears to be on it's way for the PS2. If you want more news and latest info about the E3 Expo, head over to U.M.M.X.Z.W and Mega Man Outpost for some great news coverage. On a side note, Zero World, one of our affiliates, has moved and had a name change, so be sure to check out the new Planet Zero!
27th April 2002 - Mega Man X6 Guide Now Available/Site News
I'm very happy to report that I've finally completed the X6 guide, it's now fully active and awaiting your viewing pleasure. After having to wait for ages until the game was released in Australia, I worked on it as best I could to get it up as soon as possible. Now that we have the entire Mega Man X series fully covered, I'm not sure what over guides I might someday work on, apart from Mega Man 8. I may create a Mega Man Zero and/or Battle Network guides in the near future, keep posted if that time ever comes. I've also given away four awards recently and received one from Blue Virus. I've also decided to close down the Custom Sprites section as our custom spriter Mousera has recently resigned. I'm currently not interested in continuing the section, so please don't e-mail me if you want to be a spriter on the staff, I'm trying to keep the staff low so I don't get caught up in too much work. I apologize to anyone that has submitted custom sprites, I might open it up again in the future, but I'm currently far too busy with other things to be able to be running the section anymore. Remember that there are plenty of other sites that will accept any custom sprite work. The next update should hopefully be the completed guide, so I might not update for a while yet. There's also been a new petition regarding the unfair treatment the Mega Man series receives from gaming magazines, Reeve of MMXO has begun the petition on all our behalf, so if you have some spare time I ask that you support the community by signing the petition. Follow this link to sign the petition. |
5th April 2002 - Version 5.0
Well, here it is. The new and improved MMXZ layout! The entire site has been completely refurbished, along with a few new features added here and there. The site now heavily uses SSI code, so I'll be able to update everything a lot easier from now on. Every guide has a new look, and now that it's all done, I can finally begin working on the X6 guide. After playing through the game for a while I've realised just how massive the game is, so it's probably going to take quite some time to make the guide, but rest assured, it is now officially underway. The preview page is still up, but eventually I'll replace it with the proper main page. Several of the multimedia sections have merged, just to keep the sections organised, and I'll also soon add the intro of X6 to the movie section. I'll update with some more news soon regarding recent community goings-on and the status of a few things. Enjoy the new layout!
4th April 2002 - New Layout's nearly done
Sorry about the huge delay, but I've just about wrapped everything up with the new layout. With only the Xtreme 2 guide to finish off, I should have the layout up and running in a couple of days, and once that's done I can finally get underway with the X6 guide. I finally got a copy of the game, and it sure looks like the guide will take some time to do, so don't expect it to be done for a while yet. Apart from that, the layout's on the verge of it's launch, so keep posted over the next few days.
25th February 2002 - Affiliate News/New Layout
There's been some more action in the affiliates list, firstly Mega Man Online & Zero Forever are up and running, but MMO is currently under construction. We've also gained two new affiliates! Zero World & Mega Man Evolution are both excellent well-made sites, be sure to check them both out! Unfortunately the release date for X6 here has changed to March 15th, so between now and then I'll be working on a new layout for the entire site, the new setup should look much better and easier to use than this one, I'll also be making major changes to the guide sections to give them a better look. This will be the last update before the new layout is up, so it should be done within a week or two - hopefully before X6 comes out.
12th February 2002 - The impossible has happened/Affiliate News
The impossible has happened, Capcom have had a change of heart and are actually releasing Mega Man X6 here in Australia! The game's coming out around Feb 22 so this means that the guide will be up much sooner than I previously expected, hopefully it should be up by the end of March or early April. I'll be playing the game from scratch so hopefully it shouldn't take me too long to figure everything out, but at least the my previous assumption of a mid-year release of the guide won't be happening. I'll post another update when I start working on the guide itself. There's also been some action in the affiliates list, firstly, Artic Freeze is gone but is now replaced with the new Brave Robot. We've also received a new affiliate: Mega Man Source, a great site featured heaps of MM related stuff, be sure to give them a visit.
31st January 2002 - New guides on the way/Affiliate News
Finally some news. First, while waiting for X6 I've decided to provide coverage for the Game Boy Mega Man 1-5 games, work will begin soon on the new guides, they shouldn't all take too long to complete, hopefully by the end of February everything will be up. Now for some great news, we've just affiliated with the awesome Mega Man X Online! If you haven't visited the site before you should take the time to look through it, they also have massive guides for the X series as well as some other great features. Currently there are 7 inactive sites in the affiliates list, if they don't re-appear soon I'll have to drop them and accept new sites, so if you're interested in affiliating with us, keep an eye out here in case some of the seven sites drop out.
10th January 2002 - Happy New Year!
Well, here we are, 2002 already. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and new year, this should be a great year for upcoming MMX games, with the strong possiblity of a Mega Man X7/Xtreme 3 in the works over in Japan. Just a few things I'd like to make known, the webring here has been shut down for good (it wasn't very successful), plus the UMMF has moved! The new forum has been transferred from EZBoard to it's new location at Bluebomber. You can now use the small image link of Magma Dragoon's face above to reach the new forum. We also have a new affiliate! MegaMan's Domain is great site, definitely worth checking out. Thanks also to all of the people offering to help me with the X6 section, if you really need help with the game, I suggest you should visit GameFaqs, Mega Man X Online and Megaman Outpost for guides. I'm not to worried about the guide's lateness, as these sites already have great coverage for the game. There hasn't been much to update with recently, hopefully some new stuff should come along soon, but until then, enjoy the site's attractions and features.
