18th December 2001 - Mega Man X6 Guide Status
Sorry about not updating for a while, but here's the deal, I'm going to be working very soon with someone on a new upcoming Perfect Dark site that is going to take the PD community by storm, so I might not update again here for quite some time. It also looks like I won't be able to get a copy of X6 real soon, so unfortunately the guide won't be up for a long time, but it'll hopefully be up around mid-2002. This all doesn't mean that I'll be neglecting the site, I'm currently working on putting together the script from X5, that should be finished soon. But apart from that, there won't be anything new for a while, so enjoy all the guides we have and the other features as well. This site doesn't live off updates, we already have a huge amount of guides and multimedia stuff, so it should be fine for the time being, 7 out of the 8 MMX games covered should suffice for now.
10th December 2001 - New Affiliates/Site Stats
Three of my affiliates had not updated for several months, so three new ones have replaced them. I'll now be only keeping affiliates that update frequently, there's no point linking to a dead site or one that isn't maintained. The three sites are: Mega Man Vortex, Rockman Fantasy and Arctic Freeze. Be sure to check them all out! The site has also just reached a new milestone! A few days ago the tracker recorded over 1000 unique hits in one day! The counter is also drawing nearer to 100,000. This obviously tells me that many Mega Man/X fans enjoy the site, so I'd just like to thank everyone who visits on a regular basis, you guys will keep this site alive for a long time.
8th December 2001 - Mega Man X6 is Out!
That's right, check out your local game retailer or Electronics Boutique to find the game shining out from the store shelves. Now that the Enlgish version's come out, I won't be updating the X6 preview page anymore, there won't be any rumors or previews to show. Once I manage to get a copy of the game (fat chance of it coming out here), I'll begin working on the guide, so hopefully it should be fully complete and available for viewing by around June next year.
4th December 2001 - More X6 Updates
More updates for the X6 section, thanks to Beta X, Spriteman X, Cyber Ninja and Maverick Sigma (the webmaster of MMX Arena) we now have the eight Maverick boss intro pics from the game on display, as well as sprites of the Blade Armor and Shadow Armor in action. I've also added links to the video commericals available from Capcom's Japan site. There's also been news running around that X6 could very well be released as soon as this Wednesday! I'm sad to say that now that the US version of the game is about to be released, the preview page for X6 will no longer have any additions, but about a month or two after the game's out the full guide will hopefully be available. Keep an eye on your local game retailer or EB for X6!
1st December 2001 - Rockman X6 is out!
That's right, X6 has finally come out in Japan, and if Capcom's release date for the US version holds, it'll be out in just over a week! I've added more stuff to the X6 section, including enhanced versions of the box shots, and artwork of the eight Maverick bosses.
I've also received an award from Arctic Freeze! Take a look at it in the awards section. Keep posted for more X6 news as it happens! Also, Mega Man X Arena has returned! This time they'll be having much more content than before and will concentrate on gaining more features and guides. Be sure to check it out! |
21st November 2001 - More X6 News/Webrings
I've added more info in the X6 section, including descriptions of the three new characters making an apperance in the game as well as estimated translations for the eight Mavericks. The Japanese box art has also been released, pictured here on the right.
I've also joined Zero X Phoenix's webring, but I've shut down my one as it hasn't been receiving many (decent) site submissions and most of the sites in the ring don't post the webring image, so I couldn't really be bothered running it anymore. |
13th November 2001 - Mega Man X6 Update/Zero's X5 Attack
Here's a huge update for the X6 section, I've added more than 50 screenshots taken from various sites including the Japanese EG site. I've also begun adding some information from the game as well. I've had many responses about Zero's ultimate attack in X5, and after trying it myself, I managed to get a snapshot of it in action shown below:

The attack is real, but according to Nightmare Zero, normal Zero doesn't use the attack and X doesn't have any special attack similar to this when you fight him with Zero. I've also updated X's Bosses in the X5 section to include the attack. |
10th November 2001 - Mega Man Xtreme 2 Guide
Yup, the guide's fully completed and available for your viewing pleasure! Just remember that this is the first time we've had a guide up for a game that's just come out, so keep in mind that most of it can spoil the game for you if you haven't been through it yet, so only use it as a last resort of if you're really stuck. Now that Xtreme 2's out of the way I can now concentrate more on X6, so there should be new stuff coming soon. I'd also just like to thank Sephiroth Omicron a heap for giving me loads of help and hints for the Xtreme 2 guide.
On that note, Japan's release date for Rockman X6 is drawing nearer, so there should be heaps of news pouring out soon. Also be sure to check out Mega Man X Universe, they've begun freshly updating again, so there should be new content appearing soon. |
5th November 2001 - Mysterious X5 Attack/Mega Man Xtreme 2 Released!
Take a gander at this awesome attack:

Thanks to Sephiroth Omicron from Mega Man X Universe for this pic and info about it, apparently when fighting Maverick Zero near the end of the game, he rarely can perform this huge attack, which can't be dodged and is instant death for X if he's hit. Ouch. I haven't actually seen this for myself yet so it hasn't been confirmed to be true, but it still is a damn good looking attack.
On another note, great news! Capcom has surprised everyone by releasing Mega Man Xtreme 2 for Game Boy Color before the 7th, so this means that the final stages for the guide are underway! The entire section should be fully completed and up within a week or two, stay tuned for the launch! |
29th October 2001 - Affiliate News/Mega Man Xtreme 2 Update
After some trouble with affiliates being either down or not posting our button, I've reduced the limit down to 20, it'll probably stay that way for good. I've got some great news about the Xtreme 2 guide, the entire guide is almost complete, with the release of the game about a week away the guide should be up a few days after it comes out.
News concerning X6 has been pouring out, much coming from a Japanese site detailing news from the Tokyo Game Show. The preview is in Japanese, but if you want to read up more info about it, check out UMMXZW & Megaman Outpost. |
19th October 2001 - Name Change/Mega Man X6 News
After some much needed work on my custom sprite, I've decided to change my screen name as well as the sprite. I'll now be known as Falcon Zero, but my current contact e-mail will remain the same for now. I've also added a news archive section accessed via the link below.
The new CD cover for the US version of X6 has been revealed a few days ago, you can see the box art in the X6 section. MMO has also discovered that the release date seems to have been changed to the 10th of December, five days before the other proposed release date. New screenshots taken from the official Capcom site are also available in the X6 section. Work is continuing on the Xtreme 2 section, it should be fully completed not long after the US version is released. |
1st October 2001 - New Setup/Mega Man X6 News
I've made a few changes to the setup for the site to help it improve performance. First, thanks to Nightmare Zero and ZXP's help I've managed to get SSI script working, so now the menus and affiliates lists will be a heck of a lot easier to update, I've also decided to move MMXZ's main page back to the main url http://mmxz.zophar.net. I've been noticing that Square-N Classics and Perfect Dark Saga aren't receiving hits anywhere near the amount this site is, so they'll both now be archived sites. You can still access them through the button links at the bottom of the menu on the left, the url's will remain the same, http://mmxz.zophar.net/rpg/ and http://mmxz.zophar.net/perfectdark/. If anyone has links to this site listed as under the /megamanxz/ folder, please change it back to the main url.
Capcom of America have finally released a section for Mega Man X6, it shows the new CD cover for the game and you can now pre-order it from them. The release date is for the 15th of December, but after experience with X5, this date will most likely change to a later date. I've also received a few new custom sprite images, adding to our growing archive of sprites. |
21st September 2001 - Mega Man XZ Version 4.0
Well, here it is. Phew. After the attack on the 11th, I decided to work extra hard on updating the site, so it's finally done. Every section has been enhanced in looks and style, all the strategy guides have had a facelift and the Mega Man Xtreme 2 section's main page is now up. I also managed to get a copy of the European PSX version of MMX3 so the anime movie clips are up in the movie clips section. The multimedia sections are still listed under the menu on the left, but the site related sections are now in the horizontal menu just below the ad banner. The main page, staff page, affiliates and forum link can be accessed by clicking the small face icons to the right of the site related links.
The world is passing through a dark period at the moment, so I'm hoping that this huge update will help ease the worries and depression anyone might be experiencing right now. I'll now be working on the MMXtreme 2 section, so some time after the US release it should be up. Enjoy the new layout! |
13th September 2001 - A Tragic Day For Us All
As most of the world already knows, ruthless evil has attacked the world in the form of terrorism in it's most horrific form. After the two aircraft slammed into New York's World Trade Center towers more than 24 hours ago, the country of America as well as the world was shook. The devastation that followed was unimaginable, the destruction appalling. Even though this news has nothing to do with this site, I would just like to take a moment to say that my condolences and prayers go out to all the innocent victims and their families who were affected by this horrible event. I'm an Australian, but even though I live thousands of miles away from America, the scenes showed on the news yesterday almost made me sick. Now that the shock is beginning to subside, people can now begin to rebuild their losses and move on, but I must say that all Americans should be very proud of President George W. Bush, his determination for peace and restoration will keep spirits high and alive, and as he said before, physical foundations can be destroyed, but not the foundations of the people and nation.
The amazing heroism displayed by all the brave police, firemen, ambulance officers and all those working tirelessly in the rescue effort will not be forgotten, they will be honored for all of time. On behalf of the rest of Australia, once again I offer my condolences and deepest prayers for America and all that is good in the world. For now, we must accept what has happened and move on, striving for freedom and peace. May God bless you all and all the good people of the world, and may God bless the United States of America. |
25th August 2001 - Mega Man X6 Update/Mega Man X3 Petition
I've updated the MMX6 section to a better look, adding the screenshots from the official Capcom Japan site as well. I've also received a request at the forum to promote a petition to bring Mega Man X3 PSX to the US. Head over to check the link and sign it, as Capcom'll need literally hundreds of signatures before considering to release it. The PSX version has already previously been released in Japan, Europe and Australia, but for some reason they didn't release it in the US. Help bring this great game to the US by signing the petition!
The Spaceworld 2001 convention has begun in Japan and there's already been a lot of hype and plenty of new games lined up for show, including a large range of upcoming GameCube titles. Hopefully MMX6 will make an appearance, but we might be too close to it's release in Japan in November to see any of it, but still, hopes are high - Rockman EXE 2 might make an appearance as well. |
24th June 2001
Earlier than I said, but here it finally is! The fully completed guide for Mega Man X5!!! After finally getting around to working on it, in under two weeks I've managed to start and finish the guide, so head over and have a look! I'd also like to thank everyone who's offered to help me with the section, as well as Sephiroth Omicron's help and motivation. Thanks guys! Now that we currently have the entire Mega Man X series covered, soon I'll be setting up preliminary sections for Mega Man X6 and Mega Man Xtreme 2. But for now, enjoy the new MMX5 guide!
21st June 2001
Don't worry everyone, I've almost finished the new section, so it should be up by the 25th June - and that's a promise. Be here on Monday to see it.
8th June 2001
The large update is yet to be completed, but I've received a new affiliate which is the 25th, so if anyone wants to affiliate now, they'll go on a waiting list. I've also joined up with the BlueCore Network, go and check it out. That's all for now!
31st May 2001
Here's the first part of the large update, I've fully completed a strategy guide for Mega Man Xtreme! Head over to the new section and enjoy! I've also received a new affiliate: ZeroX Productions. It's a great site, so head over and have a look! Mega Man Central has also updated their site and it's looking great! The rest of the surprise update will be hopefully finished within a month's time. Enjoy the MMXtreme guide!
25th May 2001
I've received a few new affiliates, bringing my total to nearly 25 now. I've set up a new affiliates page under the site related section, and I've also decided to have a max of 25 affiliates, 2 spots are still open. I've also become aware that there was a problem displaying the guides sections on Netscape, the problem should now be fixed. I'd also like to let everyone know that there is going to be a large update soon, it's something you've all been asking for, (you should all know what it is!). Anyway, the update will be coming within the next month, so look forward to it!
11th May 2001
A couple of updates today, I've made myself a new custom sprite, and I've received a new one of SO. I've also gained my 21st affiliate: Maverick Hunter Database. I've updated the Screenshots and Images Gallery so that the images can be selected from a menu, the interface is much easier to use now than the previous. Looks like Mega Man X6 will be making it's debut at E3 this year. Keep posted for more info about that.
26th April 2001
Here's some news, I've received some great X5 images from SO and I've posted them in the Images Gallery. I've also helped SO design a new layout, so be sure to check it out! I've also received an award from Nightmare Zero from Mega Man Masters! His site is now back up and is looking great! I also have two new affiliates: Hyper Net and Shinoku's Spriters Team. Be sure to check them out!
19th April 2001
I've now gained a new staff member! DarkMegaX3 will be running the upcomng Fan Art section, so if anyone wants to contribute some art, e-mail him to have it posted once the section is up and running. One other thing, for all the Perfect Dark fans out there, don't worry, I'll be updating Pure Dark soon and the content will finally begin to grow. Check back soon!
16th April 2001
Here's some good news, I've activated ZAT's new webring and joined it, so it's now on display in the webrings section. I've also gained a third staff member! Ninja the hellbound Mouse will be the new sprite sheet and custom sprites maintainer, so expect a new section to appear soon! I've also given away a new award to Zero MH of Zero MH's World of Mega Man!
3rd April 2001
Here's a few new updates. I've finally added screenshots for Mega Man X2 and X3, and I've completed the scripts for X3 and X4. I hope to set up an X5 guide soon. For now, this site is now complete and the multimedia section is finally fully active. Enjoy!
31st March 2001
Sorry everyone for a break of updates, but here's one that everyone should like. RW Boros has graciously provided me with the original movie clips from MMX4 so I now have them in the movie clips section. I've also added the script for MMX4 as well. I also have one new affiliate! It's Mega Man Assault and its a great site! Also check out MMXA, ZAT's put a lot of effort into the site and its looking awesome! He's set up a new Maverick Hunter Security which is really cool if you want you're stuff protected.
10th March 2001
Here's a new update, I've just received two new awards and given away five! I've also got a new affiliate: Mega Man Xtreme. Pure Dark is slowly being constructed but will have some content soon. Also be sure to visit MMXA! ZAT has been busy updating the site and its looking great!
24th February 2001
Hey everyone, I've just received a new affiliate: NeoProtomanX. ZAT is updating MMXA to a new layout and so far his sites are looking great. Just to let you all know, I'm giving this site a break for a while because I'm setting up a Perfect Dark site within the DXN, so if you're a fan of PD, you'll love the site!
19th February 2001
HUGE update today. This is the (new) version 3.0 of the site, which will probably remain for a long (emphasis on long) time. I've re-designed the site for ZD and I've added some new sections. ZAT has given me some X4 cutscene shots so the image gallery is now up and running. I've received one new affiliate: megaman:RX. It's a growing site and has potential. I've also given and received an award from Zero X Phoenix from U.M.M.X.Z.W! His site is now back up and is looking great. Be sure to visit it!
1st February 2001
Another large round of updates today. First I'd like to begin by saying that this site will now (hopefull) remain at ZD after the server error occured caused the site to be locked down. It's all here again and should stay that way. I've set up the Image Gallery and Screenshots pages, soon ZAT will add images to the gallery. As today is the release for Mega Man X5, I've updated the section with sprite sheets for the eight maverick bosses and the maverick leaders. Also the long awaited re-opening of U.M.M.X.Z.W should be occuring any day now. That's it for now.
26th January 2001
Welcome to MMXZ's new location! The entire site is here and is completely active as it was at GeoCities, but without roms. You can still find the roms at Vimm's Emulation Lair. The site is now a part of the Dragon X Network which will have other gaming sites featured apart from this one. Expect many new sections to appear as disk space is now not an issue, so new things will be coming. That's all for now!
25th January 2001
Just a quick note to let you all know that this site will be moving very soon. The site will become a part of the "Dragon X Network" and will be joined with another site. This site will look the same as it does now, but the roms will no longer be available to download as the new host denies it. The new address will be http://mmxz.zophar.net.
17th January 2001
Here's a few new updates. First, there are now two people working on this site, myself and Zero Alpha Trauma. He's in charge of the upcoming Image Gallery, so expect that section to be up soon. I've also now received my second award from the Starman Moonbase! He's also received an award from this site. Lastly, I have 1 new affiliate, ZXGT. It's a great site that combines Mega Man and Dragon Ball Z.
11th January 2001
Today is the launch of version 2.0! The entire site has been enhanced and updated to support the new layout and I've added some new sections as well. Voting for this site and accessing the guestbook can now be done from the menu, as well as most features of the site. As the total re-design of this site has taken me one heck of a long time to complete, my next update will probably be a strategy guide for Mega Man X5 in about a month's time. The only bad news is that I had to remove the roms for Mega Man VII and Rockman & Forte due to disk space issues, but you can still get all the roms from Vimm's Emulation Lair. But for now, enjoy the new layout!
6th January 2001
I've just won my first award from Mega Man Arena! I've set up a site awards page to display it and I've also got 1 new affiliate: Mega Man - Final Defense. The site has great flash features and has a lot of content, so go and check it out. Version 2.0 is well under way now and is looking great. It should be active in about a week or so. That's all for now.
4th January 2001
My third award has just gone to Zero Alpha Trauma of Mega Man Arena! The new layout is slowly being constructed for now.
1st January 2001
I've given my second award away to Nightmare Zero of Megaman Masters! I'll also soon be setting up a version 2.0 of this site so expect the entire layout to change soon.
