Mega Man XZ: The Maverick Hunters > Site Related > FAQ
|Here is a list of frequently asked questions that I've received from many visitors. If you want to ask me a question, please make sure that the answer is not in the strategy guides or here in this FAQ before writing that e-mail.
Q: Why don't you carry roms for the SNES, NES, etc. Mega Man games?|
A: Offering roms is considered violating intellectual copyright, the result could be that I'd have to shut down the site. It's not worth the risk.
Q: Can you send me a rom?
A: Sorry, but I can't waste time doing that, check around the Internet for a rom site, you should be able to find a decent one eventually.
Q: Can you help me work/troubleshoot an emulator?
A: I didn't write the code for emulators, so any problems you're having I can't really help you out with. Take a look at the readme file that came with the emulator, or check out their website if you're still having trouble.
Q: Can I use any images from your layout for my own site?
A: Definitely not. I've put hours of work into designing the site's graphics, not for someone just to come along and steal for their own site.
Q: Can I use any code from layout?
A: You can't use that either. More hours have gone into the site's html code, especially when it's designed from scratch.
Q: Alright, but can I use any of your guides or part of them on my site?
A: Again, absolutely not. The guides are the meat and reason why this site exists, so I can't let anyone plagiarize from them and take parts for their own site. You can't use the images in the guides on your own site either, as I've custom-made them. You can only use the information in the guides as a reference for your own guides, you'll get a lot more satisfaction out of writing your own guide.
Q: What is a .spc file?
A: These are special music files taken from a game's rom using an emulator such as ZSNES (don't worry, they're not illegal to own). To listen to them, you'll need a special program to play them, you can find a whole load of them at Zophar's Domain.
Q: Are you interested in any new staff members?
A: If I ever decide to recruit new staff, I'll make a note of it on the main page, so check there for any announcements in the future.
Q: Are you interested in any new affiliates?
A: Again, check the affiliates section of the site, I'll only be looking for new affiliates if current ones drop out or shut down their site.
Q: Will you be covering -insert game name/series- in the future?
A: I have no idea what games I'll be covering in the future, compiling the guides takes an awful amount of time, and lately I just haven't had the time due to the business of life. I'll write new guides once I've got the time.
Q: Why don't you update more often?
A: Another fair question, but it's hard to update the site with new content when that content takes a particularly long time to produce. As news in the Mega Man community is always buzzing with rumours and news of new games, I just haven't got the time to keep up with it all. This site isn't a full-time paying job for me, so I'll only update when I can. And besides, this site's main purpose is to offer guides, so I'll be staying put with that.
Q: Can I link to your site?
A: Sure! Just check the Link to this Site section for button images and banners.
Q: Can you link to my site?
A: I currently only link to affiliate sites, check the affiliates section for more info.
Q: Will you accept fan art?
A: Not at the moment, but there's other great sites like U.M.M.X.Z.W that do accept fan art, give them a try.
Q: Will you accept custom sprites?
A: Again, not at the present time, but there's sure to be other sites that do.
Q: Can you help me design a site layout?
A: Sorry, but I just don't have the time to. There are other sites around that do have services for designing layouts, have a look around and you're bound to find one.
